Ignacio, Colorado is now a bustling little town and is the headquarters of the Southern Ute Indian Nation. It
is located along the Los Pinos River south of Bayfield and north of
the historic La Boca Ranch. Ignacio has been growing and the quaint
downtown has several good restarunts, an art gallery, and a brand new communtiy library which opened in 2007. Ignacio seems to be the epicenter for La Plata County's boom natural gas production. Ignacio restaraunts bulge at the seams during the lunch hour with gas well workers.

The beautiful new library in Ignacio opened it's doors in 2007. It boast's as being the best little library in Colorado and you would be hard pressed to disagree. Operating hours at the new library will be Mon-Thurs, 9am-7pm; Friday, 9am-5pm; and Saturday, 9am-4pm. New Art On Display; Local artists have joined together for a new art display in the library which will run from Dec. 1 to Feb. 28.
